Tower seriously injured in BC

Abbotsford, BC — September 5, 2016 — A driver working for Aggressive Auto Towing can expect a long recovery from injuries sustained while he was working at the side of Highway 1 in Abbotsford, BC.

“From the reports we have, he has two broken legs, two dislocated knees, a large gash on the right side of his eyes, so he’s pretty banged up,” said Jason Davis of Aggressive Auto Towing according to a report by the CBC.

The driver had just finished loading a minivan onto the bed of his truck when two vehicles collided nearby. The impact caused one vehicle to spin around and hit the driver’s door just as he was about to enter the tow truck.

A statement from the RCMP say the crash is being considered a workplace incident. WorkSafeBC has sent investigators to the scene.

The driver remained both conscious and lucid after the accident. Air and ground ambulances responded to the collision, and the driver was airlifted to Royal Columbia Hospital where he underwent surgery.

British Columbia has a “Move Over” law, requiring motorists slow down and move over for all vehicles stopped alongside the road that have flashing red, blue or yellow lights. Tow trucks uses yellow lights.
