Mission Towing to appear on Highway Thru Hell

Mission, British Columbia — September 28, 2015 — Mission Towing will soon be gracing TV screens in over 170 different countries. The Mission, B.C-based business is set to be featured on Canadian reality series, Highway Thru Hell.

Jordie Duperon, the company’s operating manager, told the Mission Record their TV debut couldn’t have come at a better time. Less than two months ago, a fire caused extensive damage to the Mission Autobody and Towing building, leaving only the towing division operational. He says he hopes the exposure will let people know that their doors are still open.

“Since the fire happened, we’ve slowed down. I think a lot of people think we’re out of business. Our phone isn’t ringing so much,” Duperon said in the report, adding that plans to rebuild are in place.

Duperon had previously turned the show’s producers down, but this year he had a change of heart. He says the filming, which took place last year, was an experience in itself.

“I’m not going to lie to you, at first it was kind of embarrassing. You go somewhere and there’s a camera with you,” he says. “People are looking at you kind of funny, but it kind of becomes part of your day.”

The family business—which has served the area for 61 years, covering Mission, Agassiz and parts of Hope—is set to make its first appearance on the series’ fourth season on September 29.

“I think it will be good for the community,” Duperon says.

Highway Thru Hell airs on the Discovery Channel each Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET.
