October 12, 2017 — Calgary, Alberta — City Wide Towing and Recovery Service acquired most of the assets of Capital Towing and Recovery. The addition of Capital Towing is part of City Wide Towing’s initiatives to build itself into a leading national company, according to Rob Voelk, CEO of City Wide.
City Wide Towing was founded in 1963, and offers towing and recovery equipment transportation, boosting, lockouts, fuel delivery, and other speciality services in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Airdrie, with a fleet of 130 trucks.
The acquisition of Capital Towing strengthens City Wide’s footprint in the Edmonton area, where the Company was recently selected by the City of Edmonton to provide towing services required by the Edmonton Police Service. Devon Poole, Founder of Capital Towing, has joined City Wide as Operations Manager (Edmonton Branch) as part of the transaction.
