By CTAR StaffMerrillville, Indiana – August 20, 2014 – The Indiana Towing & Wreckers Association (ITWA) has partnered with the Professional Towing & Recovery Operators of Illinois (PTROI) in hosting the first annual Great Lakes Regional Tow Show. Taking place August 22 to August 24 at the Radisson Hotel Star Plaza, the inaugural indoor/outdoor tow show will feature various exhibits, demonstrations, seminars, and industry-related activities. In addition to offering Traffic Incident Management (TIM) certification as well as Towing and Recovery Association of America (TRAA) certification testing, the conference will hold a driving competition, sponsored by Tow Times, and showcase a variety of tow trucks during a beauty contest—both set to take place on Saturday. The show’s second day will also give attendees a chance to sit in on the Police Towers of America seminar, with a focus on municipal towing trends and maintaining optimal police department relations, as well as the Wreckmaster seminar, a discussion on the value of training and safety programs for towing professionals. Open for the duration of the event, the exhibition room will provide show-goers with industry information and products put forth by numerous vendors. Other event highlights include a tow truck parade, a light contest, prepared children’s activites, as well as a scheduled raffle and silent auction. The Great Lakes Regional Tow Show will be free and open to the public from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, August 24.
