Towing company sues Youngstown, alleging harassment
A South Side towing company has sued the city and several of its officials, claiming the city has been harassing the company.
The lawsuit, which seeks more than $275,000 in damages, was filed by Atty. Matthew C. Giannini on Monday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on behalf of Alex Bugno, owner of Bugno Towing and Recovery, 1101 E. Indianola Ave.
Body found in car, days after it was towed
Angry. Sad. Grieving. That’s how family members of 62-year-old Carolyn Watkins described their feelings after her body was discovered in a car, days after it was towed from a crash.
“We were wondering where she was, and she was in the car the whole time,” said Algernon Parker, 42, Watkins’ son.
W-B tow woes: Inaction to scandal
The most astonishing question is how anyone could fail to see a conflict of interest.
Under no circumstances should Wilkes-Barre City police borrow or otherwise obtain use of vehicles belonging to Leo Glodzik, owner of the city’s exclusive contracted tower, LAG Towing. Police officers decide if a vehicle will be towed; when they do, they call Glodzik.
