Toronto, Ontario — May 5, 2015 — Police are searching for a black tow truck following a hit-and-run incident involving a cyclist in the Uxbridge Township area.
The Stouffville Sun-Tribune reports a 33-year-old Torontonian was riding his bike southbound on York-Durham Line near Wagg Road when a black tow truck struck him from behind at around 10:30 a.m. on April 30.
The truck, sporting rear dual wheels and “Free Tow and Scrap” in white lettering on each side, fled the scene heading southbound.
The cyclist suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre, where he remains in serious condition.
Durham regional police have issued a public appeal for information connected to the incident, including the whereabouts of the truck — described as an older model with front-end damage resulting from the collision.
